Learn from your Regrets!

Everything that is past is either a learning experience to grow on, a beautiful memory to reflect on, or a motivating factor to act upon. -Denis Waitley

I am one of those people who are gifted for having such a loving family. I am being cared by my mother, and motivated by my father in all aspects of this borrowed life. But sadly, I am also one of those children who doesn't even care to say 'I love you', 'Thank you', give cards with corny designs during special days, and many more things that could let them know how blessed I am and happy for having them in my life on the other hand. How stupid right? But one thing made me realized.

I remember my first week as a college student. I bought my own food, cleaned my own room, budgeted everything for survival(haha), and made decisions on my own, degrades myself. "Where art thou mama, papa?" My mind and heart screamed.  I even cried for I can't live by myself. I want to feel the feeling of being cared by my parents. But the question is, did I even bother myself with this before? I thought and cried. After a while, I dialed my mom's number and told her my feelings. I just can't imagine how dramatic I am that time, but one thing is for sure. I really missed and valued them more, starting that time. By the way, the father I'm referring to is my step father.

Life may be filled with regrets but never fail to fix and learn from them. We should love our parents and we should not keep ourselves busy with those worldly stuffs. Instead, let us value them for they are also getting old.
